Job Description

About the Role:

As a Title Abstractor, you'll be a key player in our mission to revolutionize the real estate closing process. You'll delve into the fascinating world of property records, meticulously examining documents like deeds, mortgages, liens, and historical records to determine ownership and uncover any potential issues. Your expertise will ensure smooth and efficient transactions for our clients, making a real difference in the world of real estate.

What You'll Do:

Examine, analyze, and evaluate a wide range of property documents, including deeds, mortgages, tax records, liens, judgments, and more.
Determine property ownership and identify any encumbrances or potential issues.
Analyze chain of title and identify any defects or inconsistencies.
Prepare comprehensive property reports and title commitments, summarizing your findings in a clear and concise manner.
Resolve any discrepancies or missing information in title documentation.
Collaborate with attorneys, realtors, lenders, and other stakeholders to exchange information and resolve title-related issues.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating with clients, answering inquiries, and providing updates.
What You'll Bring:

5+ years of experience as an abstractor/examiner at an advanced level, including online search experience.
Commercial search experience is highly preferred.
Familiarity with various state guidelines and searching property tax jurisdictions online.
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accurate and professionally formatted title reports.
Sound judgment in handling confidential borrower data.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools (Word and Excel).
Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet client needs.
