**Description:** **What We're Doing** Become a part of something IMPACT\-ful\! Ground Missile Defense \(GMD\) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks\. The GMD Weapon System \(GWS\) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat\. **The Work** As a software developer on the GMD Weapon System \(GWS\) Fire Control \(GFC\) Engagement Planner team, you will work in collaborative environment to understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms and may participate in code modernization and translating Ada code to C\+\+\. The algorithms and capabilities implemented by the Engagement Planner team are mathematics and physics based complex solutions that will be highly visible to the GWS customer, Missile Defense Agency \(MDA\)\. Learn more about Lockheed Martin's comprehensive benefits package here\! \( \#rmshotmiljobs **Basic Qualifications:** \- Bachelor's degree in STEM related field, and 5 years of related experience \- Experience Developing Software in Ada or C\+ \- Math and/or physics background utilized to resolve complex issues \- Experience analyzing and implementing optimization algorithms \- MATLAB and Python Experience \- Unix/Linux Operating System Experience \- Active Final Secret Clearance **Desired Skills:** - Experience developing fire control solutions - Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations - Experience with automated software requirements testing and analysis - Experience with the MDA GMD program\. - Experience with Agile Project Management tools \(Jira/Confluence\) and DevSecOps tools and methods \(Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab\) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment \(CI/CD\) automation - Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics - Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\. **Clearance Level:** Secret **Other Important Information You Should Know** **Expression of Interest:** By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\.
