The Financial Advocate (FA) is responsible to coordinate, problem solve, and respond to patient billing concerns by facilitating open dialogue with patients, family members, and other authorized individuals involved in the patients account(s). The FA helps patients to enroll in exchange plans and ensures patients proactively receive financial assistance, charity care, or other means of external assistance necessary to ensure needed healthcare is received. The FA monitors patient payment agreements and internal collection accounts and is responsible to work with external collection agencies as determined by Graham Health System (GHS). The Financial Advocate utilizes both proactive and reactive strategies to ensure patient financial services are of the highest quality. The FA reports to the Director of the Business Office.
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma preferred
Previous experience in medical billing practices, insurance, and customer service is required
At least two years’ experience in account collections or working in a physician office
