This role involves managing operation systems, NGS data QC and analysis, and collaboration with the teams.

Responsibilities
  • Data Handling: Move and manipulate large NGS data sets in a Linux environment
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control assessments of NGS data, adhering to industry standards and company protocols
  • NGS Data Analysis: Perform bioinformatic analyses on NGS data, ensuring accuracy and reliability of the dataset
  • Pipeline Development: Design and implement bioinformatics scripts and pipelines for NGS data analysis, install and validate commercial pipeline updates
  • Variant Calling and Annotation: Identify and annotate genetic variants from whole exome (WES) or whole genome sequencing (WGS) using internal and publicly available tools
  • Troubleshooting: Address technical issues related to bioinformatics tools and analyses, ensuring the smooth operation of NGS data processing
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of bioinformatics workflows, tools, and analyses conducted

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer science, or similar degree
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in bioinformatics is required

Skills
  • Strong comfort and knowledge with Linux operation systems
  • Experience in programming languages such as Bash, Nextflow, Python, R, or Perl
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and software for NGS data analysis (e.g., BWA, GATK, SAMtools)
  • Knowledge of variant calling, annotation, and interpretation
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
