Hourly Rate: Sliding Scale based on Education Level (Accepting Juniors – Masters students) ($20-$23 Per Hour)
Program: Management & Budget Program – Human Resources Operations
Program Description: The Human Resources Operations office at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is dedicated to supporting the agency’s mission by ensuring that our workforce is effectively managed, supported, and engaged. HR Operations serves as the foundation for all personnel services across the department, providing consistent and efficient processes that enable employees to thrive in their roles while advancing NJDEP’s environmental initiatives.
Specifics to the Position: · Create reports on Excel and summarize findings on intern programs and diversity metrics.
·Collect and analyze intern satisfaction survey results.
·Create Canva graphics and event support.
·Assist in planning intern events, including the Fall and Summer Intern Showcases.
·Support recruitment initiatives with new ideas and outreach efforts.
·Maintain accurate records in HRIS, NeoGov.
·Help build branding materials for Spark and EPIC internship programs.
·Collaborate with the HR team on special projects.
Preferred Skillset: ·Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel and Word (required).
·Familiarity with
Canva (preferred).
·Strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn new systems.
·Interest in employee engagement.
·Creativity, problem-solving skills, and commitment to teamwork.
Preferred Area of Study: Seeking individuals (ideally junior, senior, or graduate student) enrolled at an accredited university/college studying human resources management, labor relations, or public administration. Background in communications event planning and graphic design preferred.
License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
