Work Arrangement:  

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI, three times per week, at minimum.  

Each successful candidate will be offered a hybrid role at a specific location. Candidate location preferences are considered but cannot be guaranteed.

We are currently looking for individuals to join our Intern program which will represent the next generation of Finance leaders at General Motors.

What You'll Do:

Internship assignments in Operations Finance are designed to be robust and deliver meaningful business impact. Internships provide the opportunity to learn about GM’s core business of designing, building, selling, and servicing vehicles.

Potential assignments include:

Sales and Marketing, Product Development, Purchasing & Supply Chain, Customer Care & Aftersales, Financial Planning & Analysis, Manufacturing, and Digital Business.

In addition to an exceptional introduction to the world of corporate finance, the internship program provides a truly immersive experience by pairing candidates with an executive level advisor and a peer mentor to support growth and development over the summer. You will have the opportunity to participate in networking and social events with your peers and Finance executive leadership, participate in experiential learning activities such as a tour of manufacturing facility and compete in a case competition.   Interns who demonstrate a high level of capability throughout their summer assignment will be offered a position in our full-time TRACK (Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge) Program upon graduation.

Required Qualifications:

Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics

Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027

Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks during the months summer months

Understand common financial metrics like ROI, NPV, IRR, etc.

Possess Excel skills

Start dates for this internship role are May & June of 2026. 

Compensation:

The monthly salary range for this role is $4,900 - $5,200 dependent upon class status and degree. ​ 

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2026 Student Program.​
